The Fantasy Mug Project was inspired by my favorite childhood video games, such as Banjo Kazooie (Tooie), Donkey Kong 64, and other Nintendo 64 game titles. I wanted to teach myself three specific skills that I had previously never worked on. These three skills were UV Mapping, Bump Mapping, and personality. Yes, I understand that "personality" isn't exactly a technical term, but I often felt I lacked this talent when making 3D models in the past. Ironically, throughout this process I decided that the Bump Mapping technique didn't look good in the final piece. The technique is not seen in any of the images below because of this.
This project was started and finished on March 21st, 2019. It was an all-day educational endeavor, but I'm glad I finally motivated myself to learn those essential skills.
